Workshop Script

This workshop includes a sort of “interactive” section. For your project (and submission) you’ll be recording yourself speaking. Below is the script you will follow!

In the 1970s, humanity was presented with a special chance to send a satellite to visit all of the far off gas giants in a single trip. It was the first moment we saw the massive planets up close. The director of the project, Carl Sagan, decided to take the chance to take a photo of a different planet.

On this tiny speck, every human being who has ever lived carried out their lives. Every joy and sorrow, every exploration and discovery, every act of kindness and cruelty—all occurred on this handful of pixels.

The cosmos is vast and unforgiving—a realm of extreme temperatures, lethal radiation, and endless voids. It’s a place where life, as we understand it, is near impossible. And yet, we exist. We thrive on this delicate orb, shielded by just a thin atmosphere.

It’s imperative that we cherish and protect our planet.  We need to find a way to live in harmony with the Earth, and each other. In the cold void of space, there’s nothing more precious than this pale blue dot we call home.
