Working with smart objects
Synopsis: Place an image into our composition as a Smart Object. Smart Objects preserve the image’s original characteristics so that you can perform non-destructive editing to the layer.

Definitions
- Non-Destructive: Changes that do not affect the original image file. These changes can be undone or adjusted at any point in the editing process.
Applying image adjustments
Synopsis: We will use different adjustments to enhance our image, working with the levels, brightness and contrast, and vibrance.
Duration: 3 minutes
Retouching our image
Synopsis: We will use different strategies to retouch our image by removing objects with the Spot Healing Brush and Content-Aware tools and refining details with the Clone Stamp tool.

Applying a colour filter
Synopsis: We will create a colour filter to employ so that our image reflects our campaign colour palette. We will use layers’ masks to restrict this filter to specific zones/areas.

Adding shapes and text to our poster
Synopsis: We will use the shape and text tools to add the other poster elements required for our composition. We will include our logo in this design and work closely with our sketch, available in Miro.
We will apply custom tracking, kerning, and leading values when using the text tool. These tools can be employed when using InDesign and other publication software.
Duration: 5 minutes
Definitions
- Kerning is the process of adjusting the distance between two letters.
- Tracking is the spacing throughout the entire word.
- Leading is the spacing between lines of text.
Using a mock-up file
Synopsis: We will use a mock-up .psd file to help our stakeholders visualize how our campaign will look. We will use the transform tool with the skew option to adjust our image in the mock-up.

Exporting our poster and mock-up
Synopsis: We are now ready to export our poster and mock-up to .jpg to be shared with our clients.
