Part 3 – Interface Tour
Before we fully dive into Premiere, I’m going to take you on a tour of the interface, and how it can be changed to exactly your liking. We’ll also get our timeline created so we’re ready to go and get started with the edit.
Part 4 – Rough Cut + Assembly
Next up is putting all of our footage into the timeline! This step of the process is known as the ‘rough cut’. Think of it like the first draft of a paper you’re writing. It’s not polished, and is lacking a lot of the flash and style that we’ll add later. It will give us a feel for the footage we’re using, and give us a solid basis for build on!
Part 5 – Animations, Effects, and Masking
Now that we have the rough cut, we can go through and start adding that style. In this I’ll be showing you a few different animations you can do, and how to achieve them. We’ll also be going through some general ways to use effects, as well as masking, similar to what we learned back in Photoshop. Then we’ll finish off by making a nice, stylized title.
Part 6 – Timeline Optimization, Adjustment Layers, Makers, + Rendering
And now for the last step of our process, optimization and exporting! In this one we’ll be going over how to speed up your timeline by using Proxy footage, as well as rendering effects into a clip to reduce the performance impact they’ll have as you’re trying to work on your edit. Lastly, we’ll be going over how to export a video from Premiere, and you’ll be off to the races!
