Generative AI is a very controversial topic right now. There are a lot of ethics discussions to be had about how the data used in it is sourced, however they are tools that exist for us to use, and so we’re going to use them!
The advertisements about them make it all look like magic. As though you can just click a button and it will do exactly what you want. As I’m sure you could guess, that’s not really how it works. These tools are not a replacement for knowledge of how to do it manually, but they can speed up the process a lot.
The place that they shine is merging images, or masking objects out from an image. When they have pixels to work with in the first place, they can do a much better job. They’re far less good at actually making anything by themselves. The example that we’ll be going over here will show you how to use them to mask out an object in a much faster way that doing it manually.
