Podcast Workshop – Part I

This workshop series will “funnel” you through a production workflow that results in a podcast. In this workflow, we’ll move through the 3 stages of the production process:

• The pre-production phase: where we prepare our script, files and environment (covered in this Part 1 D2L page).
• The production phase: where we record our audio (covered in this Part 1 D2L page).
• The post-production phase: where we do the editing and export our audio files for distribution.

In this spirit, you’ll find our workshop series divided into 3 phases. Our final deliverable will be a podcast (mp3).

Approach

We’ll take a “barely sufficient” approach, using the technology to execute a professional level podcast with as few steps as possible. There will be opportunities to advance your understanding of these steps if you want to outside of this workshop workflow.

Below, we will cover the pre-production and production stages. We’ll cover audio editing and distribution in the second part of the series.
